| Tanjung Priok port capacity will be increased 113%
PT Port, Indonesia (Pelindo) II project the Port of Tanjung Priok port capable of handling the flow of containers amounted to 9.5 million twenty foot equivalent units (TEUs) in 2020, up 113% from current capacity of around 4 million TEUs. Pelindo II President Director Richard Jose Lino said it refers to the projection of a new pier development at the northern port will be divided into three stages of development through the reclamation process with a total area of 246 hectares.
To improve the activities of loading and unloading of goods during the 24 hours seven days per week, Lino said it took the association at the port sector. A number of associations that coupled the Indonesian National Shipowners Association (INSA), Asosiasi Perusahaan Bongkar Muat Indonesia (APBMI), Gabungan Forwarder dan Ekspedisi Indonesia (GAFEKSI), the Asosiasi Pengusaha Indonesia (Apindo), National Employers' Organisasi Pengusaha Nasional Angkutan Bermotor (DPC Organda), and Tenaga Kerja Bongkar Muat (TKBM). Secretary of Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Directorate General of Bobby R. Mamahit says it supports the development plan to increase the capacity of Tanjung Priok in Indonesia's biggest port. | | | |

| China Shipping's Box Arm Report Rise in Revenue
CHINA - China Shipping Container Lines Co. (CSCL) reported today that they expect a return to net profit based on preliminary figures. As the country’s primary container carrier and, according to their own statistics, now fifth largest in the world by capacity with over 130 vessels and a total carrying capacity of around 350,000 TEU, the final first half results will be keenly awaited by many.
The company believes the turnaround is due to a variety of factors including an improvement in container numbers, rate and surcharge stabilisation and cost reduction measures they have undertaken. Last year’s comparative figures resulted in a net loss of over half a billion dollars for the first six months of trading. The finalised and adjusted first half earnings for 2010 will be officially reported next month.
Elsewhere in the China Shipping Group the company’s joint venture with Jumbo Heavy Lift, Dutch project forwarding specialists, has opened a second office in the country. The Beijing office follows the first office opened in China Shipping’s native Shanghai eight years ago. | | |
